Peugeot

Was it written in the stars? It all began 200 years ago with a mill... but not the sort that might first spring to mind! The curtain to the Peugeot saga first rose on the mill at Sous-Cratet (in the Doubs) that the Peugeot brothers inherited in 1810 from their miller forefathers and converted into a steel foundry. That begs questions about their first products… they were steel tapes and springs. To cut a long story short, that was how the Peugeot family’s industrial calling was cast. Their business developed and diversified by leaps and bounds throughout the first century of business with hand tools, crinoline rods and the grand Bi penny-farthing bicycle... then the first coffee mill came out of the workshops in 1840, followed by the Z peppermill in 1874... This is how Peugeot came full circle from one mill to another! The tabletop mill entered the brand’s history, never to leave it. Nowadays some 1,000 product lines come in an infinite variety of designs and finishes, engineered to grind spices as different as pepper, salt, nutmeg, herbs and even chili pepper. The excellence of their design and polished styling delights gourmets and chefs from near and far.
